This week we saw the return of Blackpool youth games, where again tag rugby league was one of the 40 sports offered to the schools in the Blackpool area.

Wednesday 30^th of June 11 schools took to Stanley Park to compete for Blackpool primary school competition trophy, The 11 teams where split into 2 leagues where they all played 4 very competitive games.  There was some excellent skill on show which the 110 pupils had honed over the year in Blackpool Panthers very successful primary school coaching programme. All teams compete furiously but it was Anchorsholme and Roseacre who had the edge and finished top of their respected leagues. The final started well for Roseacre as they took an early lead following on from some excellent running by the Roseacre players, but Anchorsholme showed great courage to fight back to score a great try to level the game 1 – 1with 2 minutes to go. As the game headed into the final stage Roseacre managed one last push to take the lead and the title of Blackpool primary school Champions.

Blackpool Panther s and the Blackpool Sport Partnership would like to thank Stanley Park and all the schools and volunteers who took part and help to make events a massive success. Don't forget Panthers are having training sessions at South Shore Cricket Club every Wednesday night 5.30-6.30 pm for 8-12 year olds.
