INTRODUCTION
The Blackpool Panthers Community Development Programme is aiming to become one of the best in not only the rugby world but in any sport.

At its launch in April 2005 it set out a clear goal to serve the community and bring Rugby League to an ever-increasing audience.

The wide range of expertise within the department will facilitate a diverse programme that serves all sections of the community both young and old, on topics such as education, health & fitness awareness and providing sporting access.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Blackpool Panthers provide high quality sporting entertainment for a family audience, which is not limited by age, race, disablement, gender, colour, creed or geographical location.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS - THE KEY TO OUR SUCCESS

• Blackpool Borough Council
• Blackpool Local Education Authority
• DfEE Department for Education and Employment
• Lancashire Sport
• Sportsmatch
• Blackpool Stanley ARLC
• Blackpool Scorpions ARLC
• Blackpool Sea Eagles

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
The Player Development role at the Club has many facets, and as such, plays an integral part of the Club’s commitment to the community. The department aims to create an interest in sport, introducing and developing individuals from as wide a target audience as is possible. Through this involvement, future stars, administrators and fans are all given their first taste of Rugby League.

The club is not isolated in its development activities, establishing a number of successful partnerships. Strong long-term practical relationships with Blackpool Borough Council, Blackpool Local Education Authority, Blackpool & Fylde Schools and local amateur Rugby League Clubs substantially increase the department’s outreach and effectiveness.
